An unincorporated community located in the southeast corner of in Fairfax County. Springfield is centrally located with easy access to I-95 and I-495 (the Capital Beltway with access to the entire Washington D.C. area) and home to both Metro-Rail and VRE Stations which make the area highly attractive to people interested in using mass transit to and from work.

Springfield is a place for families, retirees, and young professionals who are looking for a safe, friendly, and diverse community to call home. Almost 34,000 people call Springfield VA home. This suburb of Washington, D.C. is very family-friendly mid-upper class community, with plenty of quiet cul-de-sacs, playgrounds, and some of the best schools in the state. Buyers will find a number of single family homes to choose from, as well as great townhomes and condo's in the Springfield area. Springfield has an ecclectic blend of architectural styles and diversity of neighborhoods with outstanding amenitites.
Springfield is also home to one of the largest shopping malls in the area. Currently plans for Springfield include a major renovation to the Springfield Mall. This new development will be known as the Springfield Town Center, and will house popular retailers, offices, a hotel, and more than 2,000 new homes. This mixed-use complex will be built over several years, with the goal of creating a "true metropolitan community." In the meantime, there is excellent shopping in Springfield, including Macy's, Bed Bath & Beyond, J. C. Penney and Whole Foods Market.
Recreation and ActivitiesSpringfield also has natural attractions including the Hidden Pond Nature Center, and Lake Accotink Park, with 493 acres including a 55-acre lake with boating, fishing, miniature golf, a carousel and snackbar, protected wetlands, and a 3.75-mile trail. Residents enjoy fishing, boating, hiking and picnicking in the area.
