Living in Annandale

Annandale is bustling these days.  For the past several years, the Annandale Central Business District (CBD) Planning Committee, Fairfax County, and the State of Virginia have been working with   Annandale's civic and business community to improve the area known as the Annandale Village Center. Tasteful entryway signs surrounded by seasonal plantings mark the boundaries of the central business district. Annandale Tollhouse Park, designed by the Fairfax County Park Authority, is prominently located at the intersection of Annandale Road and Little River Turnpike. The park site is near the location of one of the first tollhouses along this early turnpike, and an historic marker has been placed as a reminder of the historic significance of the location.

 Recreation and Activities

The more than 50,000 people who call Annandale home enjoy the wonderful recreation opportunities that come along with living in this part of Fairfax County. Lake Accotink for instance, is a popular hot spot for boaters and anglers, while the Fairfax Cross Country Trail provides the ideal spot for hiking and mountain biking.

Other local attractions include the Hidden Oaks Nature Center, Pinecrest Golf Center, the Richard J. Ernst Community Cultural Center, the Green Spring Garden and Horticultural Center, and the Annandale Farmer's Market
