Great Falls is an affluent community with a population of just over 8,000 located in western Fairfax County and one of the prettiest areas in Northern Virginia with rolling hills and an ecclectic mix of custom built homes on beautiful large treed lots.   The main roads serving Great Falls are Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) and Route 193 (Georgetown Pike).

Living in Great Falls

Ninety percent of the homes in Great Falls are single family on large parcels of land. As a result Great Falls is sparcely populated in comparison to neighboring areas.  It's not uncommon to see new homes being built starting at $1.5 million.   These homes are usually on generous lots with irrigation systems.  Inside, a marble foyer, gourmet kitchen with a warming drawer and six-burner stove is considered standard fare.   A majority of Great Falls residents live in  custom  homes with a small percentage of neighborhoods with homes in the smaller  to medium size.  If you had to describe the area in two words, it would be "Elegant Individuality".

Zoned to the Fairfax County Public School system, the twelfth largest in the nation and a recognized leader in the field of innovative learning. Students in grades pre-K through 12 are offered a diverse quality curriculum with 91.6 percent of students going on to postsecondary education.

The Village Centre, reminiscent of colonial Williamsburg, is situated around the Village Green in the heart of Great Falls providing boutique shopping, excellent restaurants and quality services for Great Falls residents. The Village Green is home to a summer concert series, the Children's Spring festival, 4th of July parade, the Fall Festival and the Holiday Tree Lighting ceremony.

Recreation and Activities

 Great Falls is home to one of Virginia's major attractions, Great Falls Park, which overlooks the Great Falls of the Potomac River which the community and the park were named after. Also home to  River Bend Park with spectacular river views and over 400 acres of forest, meadows and ponds.
