Arlington and Alexandria are closest to D.C.  Fairfax County, the largest, is both inside and outside the beltway that surrounds Washington D.C.
Loudoun, Prince William, Fauquier and Stafford Counties are outside the beltway.  Home prices are generally higher inside the beltway.
